CS2 Spectrum 2 Case History
The cs2 Spectrum 2 Case launched on September 14, 2017 alongside the China, are you ready? update, following up on the original Spectrum Case released six months earlier. Like its predecessor, it paired seventeen weapon skins with the Butterfly Knife across five Doppler and specialty finishes, making it the second of only two cases to carry that knife. The weapon pool brought its own standout pieces, with the AK-47 Bloodsport and M4A1-S Decimator taking the Covert spots and both generating immediate demand in the community. The Spectrum 2 Case remains one of the go-to cases for players specifically chasing Butterfly Knife Doppler finishes.
How to open the Spectrum 2 Case in CS2
The Spectrum 2 Case is part of the active drop pool in CS2 and can appear as a random post-match reward. The drop probability for any individual case is low given the size of the active pool, so purchasing is the more reliable route for players who want to open it on a specific schedule.
Buying the Spectrum 2 Case on the Steam Community Market and opening it with a CS2 case key is the standard approach. On BloodyCase you can open it without purchasing a key separately, getting your result right away with any skin ready to transfer to your Steam account.
Spectrum 2 Case Skins
The Spectrum 2 Case items cover seventeen weapon skins across four rarity tiers plus a Butterfly Knife rare pool. The seven Mil-Spec skins are the Sawed-Off Morris, AUG Triqua, G3SG1 Hunter, Glock-18 Off World, MAC-10 Oceanic, Tec-9 Cracked Opal, and SCAR-20 Jungle Slipstream. At Restricted you will find the MP9 Goo, SG 553 Phantom, CZ75-Auto Tacticat, P250 Apep's Curse, and UMP-45 Primal Saber. Three Classified skins sit above: the Five-SeveN Angry Mob, USP-S Cortex, and MP7 Fade. The two Covert weapons are the AK-47 Bloodsport and M4A1-S Decimator. The rare knife tier features the Butterfly Knife across five Doppler finishes - Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4, Black Pearl - plus Ruby, Sapphire, Damascus Steel, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, and Ultraviolet.
